This year’s IJA World Joggling Championships will consist of two styles of competitions, in two locations, both on Saturday morning, July 15th.
SATURDAY 7:30AM Starting bright and early is a 5K road race in Lisbon, IA, directed by William Bayles, a local juggler and organizer of the annual Junction Jugglefest. The following special features make the early wakeup time for this event worthwhile:
A flat USATF certified out-and-back course with $1600 in prize money! CHIP TIMED. The 5K is open to non-juggling runners too.
Half the prize money -- $800 -- is split among the first three male and first three female jogglers to finish: $250 each plus trophy for 1st male & 1st female joggler; $100 each for 2nd M & F joggler; and $50 each for 3rd M & F joggler.
The other $800 is split similarly among the first three male and first three female runners to finish, whether joggling or not: $250 each plus trophy for 1st overall male & female; $100 each for 2nd M & F overall, and $50 each for 3rd M & F overall. Jogglers may double-up on prize money by finishing in the top three male or female overall.
Medals awarded to top three age group finishers (12 and under, 13-17, 18-40, 40 and above).
Overall winners receive a plaque and prize money, but are not eligible for age group awards.
The start/finish point is on Jackson St. between Casey’s and Junction Auto, 214 E. Hwy. 30, Lisbon, IA.
